2006 Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Party

The IAM&AW Local Lodge 822 held their annual Easter Egg Hunt & Party on Saturday, April 01, 2006 at their lodge hall and grounds at 2929 North 5^th Street, Quincy, Illinois.  This event is sponsored by Lodge 822 and they invite all other local unions to participate in this annual event.  All union members’ children and grandchildren are invited, as well as the underprivileged and handicapped children in the area.

This year’s event had 107 children attending, ages one through twelve.  They all hunted eggs and waited patiently for their number to be called to win one of the valuable gift certificates to various stores and restaurants in the area.  Also Easter baskets were given away.  The gift certificates ranged from $10.00 to $50.00.  These certificates were purchased with donated monies from Lodge 822 and other local unions and local business in Quincy.  Also some local business in Quincy sent certificates for free items to their place of business that are placed in the eggs with candy.  At the end of the party each child is given a sack with candy and miscellaneous items in them.

All the children have a great time and always look forward to our next years hunt and party.

A total amount of $1885.00 was received in donations this year and that amount was spent on the event.  The 2006 Contributors are as follows:
