Machinists Local Lodge 822 helped sponsor a Soap Box Derby car driven by nine year old Baily Stratman, granddaughter of the Lodge’s Office Secretary Jeannie Thomas. This was Baily’s second year driving a car, this year co-sponsored by AA Dental Clinic. |

This is the third year that the Derby has been held on North 18th Street. Baily placed third in 2006 race, in her division and also placed third in the 2007 race in her division. Baily states next year she is going to win her division |
| Baily has racing in
her blood, she watched the first year race and said I am going to race
next year. She has uncles who raced in the Soap Box Derby in the 50’s
and also raced stock cars through the years. She has a cousin who races
his car at Scotties Raceways. |
